IDME ES webinar for website

Entitled SMEs, Crisis and Preparedness, the session will run for approximately one hour and it features our esteemed Advisory Panel members Mike O’Neill, Robert McAlister and Lyndon Bird.

Mike O’Neill is Managing Director of Optimal Risk Group, Robert McAlister is Director of Glenbarr Consultancy and Lyndon Bird is Chief Knowledge Officer at DRI International.

SMEs, entrepreneurs and microbusinesses are the often overlooked and unacknowledged backbone of societies and economies. Their challenges are immense and are usually exacerbated by limited human and financial resources, making them more vulnerable to large scale crises and their cascading effects.

Equally, however, such businesses have the scope to be more creative, flexible and responsive than larger organisations.

Covid-19 and its impacts have thrown these positive and negative issues into sharp relief.

Our panellists will discuss a wide range of business continuity and resilience aspects of the ongoing crisis, drawing upon their expertise derived from having worked with and advised organisations of all sizes, their own lived experiences of running businesses, all backed up by academic overview of emergency management and resilience.

This is not going to be just another Covid-19 for SMEs webinar. We will be exploring areas such as human factors, fatigue, responsiveness, becoming comfortable and operating within unknown landscapes, and reputation, as well as providing practical advice on decision-making, planning, security, risk, cyber threats and the general principles of emergency management.
