The Crisis Response Journal is proud to announce that our advisory panel member, Rosehanna Chowdhury, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the UK Resilience Academy (UKRA).

Rosehanna has had a distinguished career as a senior leader at the heart of the UK government, shaping national policy and directing large-scale operations in national security, resilience and public policy.

In the course of her career, Rosehanna has advised prime ministers, secretaries of state, and boards on risk and resilience. She has also successfully led teams in national emergencies through department-wide change transformation programmes and has held senior roles in the Cabinet Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Her portfolios have covered national-level crises and risk management, public service reform, and global communication campaigns.

She is currently a visiting professor at Imperial College London, an Emeritus Governor of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Cambridge University Science and Policy Fellow, where she also serves on the Fellowship assessment panel.

Rosehanna stated: “I am honoured to be leading the UK Resilience Academy at such an exciting and critical time. The UK government has set out a clear ambition to strengthen national preparedness by investing in the systems, skills and leadership needed to respond and recover from the most serious risks with whole-of-society resilience at its core.”

We wish her the best of luck and look forward to her continued contributions to the field of resilience.
