One of CRJ's valued contacts from the Fire Service in Italy, has asked us to share this appeal for funding to help fight the coronavirus in one of worst affected hospitals, located in Bergamo.
"We desperately need nurses and doctors, as well as ventilation appliances and personal protective equipment," Stefano Fagiuoli, Director of the Department of Medicine at the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, told www.ansa.it on March 19, 2020.
"Our staff, doctors and nurses are working day and night, countless hours, to combat this incredible situation,” Fagiuoli says on the hospital’s Facebook page. “We do not know how long this pandemic will last.”
He has two messages – the first is to plead with people to stay at home. The second is for funding. NGO Cesvi is helping with a fundraiser on the Gofundme platform. Fagioloi adds: “If you can help us, and if you are healthcare workers, you are more than welcome to join us to fight the coronavirus."
