Exclusive images of the clean-up after riots in Croydon, UK
- 8-13-2011
Matthew Cheesman, who is working on the emergency clean-up and restoration in Croydon after the riots, has sent CRJ these images from behind the cordons.
The first few images show the Reeves furniture store, which was set alight during the rioting; it is now a pile of rubble.
Other images show the damage and destruction that were left behind. Despite this, Matthew tells us that there is an extremely positive atmosphere: "The shop keepers are all working together and the local Wetherspoons pub has been supplying food and drink for all the emergency workers and emergency services," he says.
