South Africa: On July 29, a meeting at the University of Johannesburg set out to explore the interactive and reciprocal possibilities suggested by an article published in issue 7:2, Paediatric emergency (p18), published on August 19.
At the meeting were: Chris Stein, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Emergency Medical Care in the UJ Faculty of Health Sciences; Karen Tewson, National Co-ordinator Court Preparation of Ke Bona Lesedi (I See the Light), a programme that supports child and adult trauma, rape and abuse victims throughout the legal process; and Ted Turner, Fundraiser for Family Strengthening, an outreach programme for vulnerable child-headed households founded by the SOS Children’s Villages Association in South Africa.
